Notes, tasks & email linking
Notes capture free-form context on any record. Tasks track action items with assignees and due dates. Email linking connects relevant correspondence to claims, policies, and contacts — creating a complete audit trail without leaving the Connect platform.
Notes component
Notes are free-text entries attached to a claim, policy, account, or contact. They support tags for categorization and links to related records. Notes are displayed in reverse-chronological order in a feed.

Tasks component
Tasks are structured action items with a title, assignee, due date, and status. They integrate with the To-Do module in the right rail and can be linked to specific records.

Claims linking
Claims linking lets users associate related records — a note to a specific claim line, an email to multiple related policies, a task to a carrier contact. Linked items appear as green tags on the source record.

General linking — email events
The email event node appears in activity feeds and note timelines when an email has been linked to a record. It shows the subject, sender, and a preview snippet. Email threads can be linked to multiple records simultaneously.

Usage guidance
- Always show author, timestamp, and tags on every note.
- Allow linking notes, tasks, and emails to multiple records simultaneously.
- Show overdue tasks with red status — never let them go unnoticed.
- Display linked email threads collapsed by default — expand on click.
- Don't allow task creation without a title — description and due date are optional.
- Don't delete notes — use a soft-delete (hidden from view) to preserve audit trail.
- Don't surface more than 5 recent activities in the rail — paginate or link to full history.
- Don't auto-link emails without user confirmation.
